Another Baby Story at Work

My co-worker just had her baby girl this past week.  She named her Abigail. Such a beautiful name!
I celebrated the birth by making a card with chocolate brown card stock. Then used baby pink as the accent cardstock.  The print paper is chocolate brown with pink and beige polka dots.  I used a Whipper Snipper stamp called "Blessings from Heaven" which I coloured with pencil crayons and Gamsol. I topped it off with pink ribbon with brown polka dots holding an embellishment that says "Oh Baby". I also used a decorative edger to add a little "oomph" to the card.  Welcome to the world Baby Abigail!

I am going to be a MOB lady!

No, I am not joining a gang.  I am going to be a Mother of the Bride. My oldest daughter, Julie, became engaged to her long-time (9 years) boyfriend, Scott.  He is a romantic guy and asked her to marry him just after they finished decorating their first Christmas tree at their first home.  Needless to say, our family is thrilled as he is already part of the family after all these years.  So now the excitement of wedding planning is in the air.
Of course, no event can go without a card!  I crafted this card just the other day because I finally settled on an engagement gift to go with the card.  The background paper says "I love you".  I used chocolate brown and green because those are the colours she is favouring for her wedding.  I used a clear stamp for the phrase.  The rings are from Hanna Stamps which I embosed with silver embosing powder and then put a brown crystal embellishment for the diamond.  Now the challenge really begins - finding a MOB dress for the wedding!

Thinking of You

I used this for a simple sympathy card. I was playing around with new stamps, old paper and new punches.
I wasn't totally thrilled with the outcome but of course, not every creation turns out the way you think it will!

Back from a short break

I have not posted in a while due to a vacation to Jamaica, the Christmas rush and then the January blahs. To top it all off, I no longer have my very own scrapping room as I now share my space with my husband who needed to move his home office down to my room.  My motivation to create cards is stifled a little with all of his office gear and supplies taking over the space.  But now that the February sun is trying to shine through those winter clouds, I am hoping to get some positive vibes and get back on track!
