Christmas Shopping at Work today!!

I guess Christmas Shopping at Work today on our lunch hour really drove home how fast Christmas is approaching.  This is one of the Christmas cards I designed.  I decided this Christmas to use all of those old papers I purchased "aons" ago and that have been sitting waiting to be used.  It wasn't easy to use them as I thought it would be!  Also a girlfriend of mine, let me use her Martha Stewart Snowflake edger - I love it! So I also used her Martha Stewart snowflake punch as well as some pewter snowflake brads that have been lying around.  I used a sticker for the sentiment as snowflakes remind me of peace, love and joy!

Happy Birthday Honey!

My husband celebrates his birthday on the same day as his eldest daughter, Danielle.  I used olive green cardstock which is my husband's favourite colour. I coloured the image of a suave debonair man with my Prisma pencils and gamsol.  As you can see I coloured the suit jacket in green as well. I used some rub ons to convey personal messages to my loving husband. The kids took great pleasure in reminding my husband that he only has a couple of years to the big "50".  Happy Birthday Honey!

Happy Birthday to the Other Twin - November 4th

My step-daughter, Danielle, is a day younger than my daughter. So we affectionately call our girls- "The twins". Well Danielle is a huge Batman fan. She can usually be found wearing jeans with her belt with the "Batman Buckle". When she came down this past weekend, she has a new addition to her wardrobe -  a ball cap with a pewter "Batman" bat on it.
So this past spring while we were in Florida, I happened to find Batman paper and stickers and the idea for this card was born. Needless to say, Danielle thought this card was a hit.

Happy Birthday My Girl!

There are two days in November that are very special to our family. My "baby" girl turned 20 on the 3rd.  It's hard to believe how fast the time has flown.  Lauren would love to have a kitty but since she is in university, I have encouraged her to wait until she can afford to properly take care of a pet.  So she got Fluffles the kitty instead on her card.  Fluffles is one of my favourite characters especially since I love kittens and cats.

Great Father

My husband is such a great father to his girls and the hardest of all a great step-father to my kids.  My husband loves to BBQ so I used the bella BBQ fella.  I coloured him using one of my husband's favourite colours - green.  I was really pleased with how this card turned out. I used black card stock with "father" print background that I sewed onto the card.  I used one of my new edgers for the first time to get the diamond pattern cut out of black cardstock. This was the first time I was happy with how my grass turned out. My husband is still displaying this card on his work desk so I guess he liked it too.

Enjoy your pregnancy!

A friend at work announced her pregnancy and I was so thrilled for her. It brought back memories of when I was pregnant.  That time can go by so fast or slow depending on which number it is.  All I know is once you are done having kids, you realize how precious that time in your life really was.  I used Hanna stamps.  Since I didn't know what the sex of the baby was I used a little bit of both pink and blue.

Canada Eh! Happy Thanksgiving!

The Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend is almost here.  This is my Happy Thanksgiving card that I sent to my family members.  This past summer my sister and I went on a little shopping trip in Michigan.  We hit several awesome stores and I was able to find this cute Thanksgiving mouse and pumpkin stamp.  I coloured the image with Prisma colour pencils and gamsol. The little mouse is so cute!  When I found the Thanksgiving paper, I fell in love with it right away.  I used fall colours for the cardstock.  I topped the cards off with the orange Blessings Ribbon.  Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

Sympathy is never easy to express but I feel that it is always nice to receive a card to help you feel a little better during those difficult times.  I coloured this simple flower in a stained glass window with my prisma pencils and gamsol. I stamped a simple "Peace" on the front.

Nostalgia

I stamped this card in just plain black ink on white cardstock to be reminiscent of the years gone by. I used black cardstock for the card with black plaid decorative paper for the background. To add a little punch of colour, I used a bright cherry red cardstock as a border for the stamped image. It is hard to find stamps that are "male" oriented but this one fit the bill.

Is it a Boy or Is it a Girl?

It appears to be that time in my life when either there are many younger co-workers having babies or my eldest daughter's friends are having babies. So to celebrate such a momentous event in their lives, I have made this card to celebrate the announcement of their pregnancy. I just love this Bella stamp with the "baby bump belly". Such a beautiful time in a women's life.

My First Post

This is my first post to my blog. I have posted my favourite card which I used for my sister-in-law's anniversary. I just fell in love with the paper when I first saw it. I used a versa mark pen to colour in the rings and then embossed the rings in silver. Overall, my first "truly my own" card.
